CataBlog Plugin- Create Catalogs, Stores and Galleries for Your Blog

by Bilal Ahmad on July 18, 2011

WordPress has endless features and that is why it is consider one of the best and most popular blogging platform on the web. Previously i wrote a article about a plugin through which you can convert your blog to mobile version and similarly i discuss lots of plugins that can convert your blog to a entirely new environment.

CataBlog Plugin is a similar plugin which allows you to create catalogs, galleries and stores for your  blogs and converts your blog to a CATABLOG. Upload photos and assign different categories and allow users to watch the pictures in lightbox effects. Images can be displayed in thumbnails or in full size, multiple categories can also be assigned to a catalog. Check out a screen shot to see how it looks.

Those who are interested in developing a catablog to display pictures can use this free plugin that has lots of features.

How to Install CataBlog Plugin?

1. Download CataBlog Plugin, Install and Activate.

2. Go to DashBoard>CataBlog> where you have four options. Library, Add New, Options and About. Click on Add New to add images, you can edit existing images from Library section. Option tab allows you to customize all the uploaded images and display on your blog according to your requirements. About tab has all the information about the plugin version, SQL version and other information.

In order to display the catalog use the shortcode [catablog] in page or post to display the store or gallery.

What’s the overhead on this plug-in? I’ve tried others but it tends to slow down the loading of the pages / wordpress in general.
